Governance, Risk, and Compliance Management

This master course takes place in German each summer semester and is a compulsory course of the WP option.

The course deals with companies’ challenges companies resulting from the separation of ownership and control. The aspects of the German corporate governance system that alleviate these agency problems are addressed. Relevant regulations regarding the interaction of the management board, supervisory board, and other stakeholders of the corporate governance system are discussed. In addition to various theoretical approaches and the institutional framework of corporate governance in Germany, the course focuses on current developments and research insights.
